The short version

ACKwrack collects as little as possible. We never sell, rent, or share your information with anyone.

Beach reports

When you post a report, we store the beach, the seaweed condition, your optional note, and the optional name or initials you type. That's it. Reports are public — that's the whole point of the site. We don't record your IP address, and there are no user accounts, so a report can't be traced back to you unless you put your name in it.

Email alerts

If you sign up for the morning report, we store your email address and the beach you picked. We use it for one thing: sending you the beach report. We do not sell or share it, and we don't use it for anything else.

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it deletes your address from our list immediately — we don't keep a copy. You can also email us and we'll remove you.

What we don't do

Services we use

The site runs on Netlify (hosting) and Supabase (database). Wind conditions come from Open-Meteo, a public weather service. If you subscribe to alerts, the email is delivered through a mail provider. Each of these necessarily handles the data described above in order to work.

Questions

Email us and we'll answer — including if you want your information deleted.
